María Elena Higueruelo es Contratada Predoctoral FPU en el Área de Teoría de la Literatura y Literatura Comparada de la Universidad de Granada. Prepara una tesis doctoral sobre poéticas negativas en la obra de Anne Carson. Sobre este tema, ha publicado los artículos «La metáfora del hambre en la poesía de Anne Carson: una poética de la incorrección» (Signa, 2024) y «Writing the Off Hours: Idle Imagination and Time in Anne Carson’s Poetics of Wrongness» (452ºF, 2025). Su trabajo se caracteriza por un enfoque poetológico- hermenéutico orientado a explicar cómo el sentido y la experiencia estética se inscriben en la forma material de la obra poética a través de sus procedimientos creativos. Entre sus intereses de investigación destacan la temporalidad lírica y las poéticas apofáticas. Es coeditora del volumen Dimensiones teóricas de la lírica (con Víctor Bermúdez, Jorge Arroita y Friederike Foedtke, Ediciones de la Universidad de Salamanca, en prensa) y forma parte del equipo editorial de Theory Now – Journal of Literature, Critique, and Thought. Ha realizado estancias de investigación en la Universidad de Oslo (2023) y en la Universidad de Salamanca (2024). Como poeta ha publicado los libros El agua y la sed (Hiperión, 2015; Premio de Poesía Joven «Antonio Carvajal») y Los días eternos (Rialp, 2020; Premio Adonáis y Premio Nacional de Poesía Joven Miguel Hernández). Es miembro de la International Network for the Study of the Lyric y del equipo de COPOS.
María Elena Higueruelo is a Predoctoral Fellow in the Area of Literary Theory and Comparative Literature at the University of Granada. She is currently working on her PhD dissertation about Anne Carson’s negative poetics. On this subject, she has published the articles «La metáfora del hambre en la poesía de Anne Carson: una poética de la incorrección» (Signa, 2024) and «Writing the Off Hours: Idle Imagination and Time in Anne Carson’s Poetics of Wrongness» (452ºF, 2025). Her research uses a poetological-hermeneutic approach to poetry in order to explain how meaning and aesthetic experiences are composed by the material form of a poetic work through its specific creative artifices. Among her research interests are lyric temporality and apophatic poetics. She is co-editor of the volume Dimensiones teóricas de la lírica (with Víctor Bermúdez, Jorge Arroita and Friederike Foedtke, Ediciones de la Universidad de Salamanca, forthcoming) and she is part of the editorial team of Theory Now – Journal of Literature, Critique, and Thought. She has been a visiting researcher at the University of Oslo (2023) and the University of Salamanca (2024). As a poet, she has published the books El agua y la sed (Hiperión, 2015; Premio de Poesía Joven “Antonio Carvajal”) and Los días eternos (Rialp, 2020; Premio Adonáis and Premio Nacional de Poesía Joven Miguel Hernández).
